ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND SELECTIVE COLLECTION: IMPORTANCE AND CONTEXTUALIZATION IN THE ACTUAL WORLD

Resumo:  The present article is a is a reflexion about the minimization of solid residues, having it as a scope for the environmental education regarded to the selective waste collection, aiming to contribute particularly to the debate about the construction of sustainable societies as well as to the environment conservation, with the consequent life quality improvement by changing people’s conception in relation to the managementof residues and the selective collection. Thus, we can verify that through the environmental education, there is the possibility of a transformation of the consumption and production standards in the cultural and educational paradigms in the modern society, and also of the values revision, comportments and personal habits. The conclusion shows the nessecity to aware the society through the environmental education in schools, making the comportmental changing possible in a continuous and sustainable way, providing at the same time the life quality improvement and the environment preservation.

The conclusion shows the nessecity to aware the society through the environmental education in schools, making the comportmental changing possible in a continuous and sustainable way, providing at the same time the life quality improvement and the environment preservation.  O presente artigo é uma reflexão sobre a minimização de resíduos sólidos, tendo como escopo para tanto a educação ambiental voltada para a coleta seletiva de lixo, objetivando contribuir, particularmente, para o debate acerca da construção de sociedades sustentáveis e para a conservação do meio ambiente com a conseqüente melhoria da qualidade de vida, notadamente por meio da mudança na concepção das pessoas em relação à gestão de resíduos e à coleta seletiva. Assim, verifica-se que por intermédio da educação ambiental, existe a possibilidade de uma transformação nos paradigmas cultural-educacional da sociedade moderna, dos padrões de produção e consumo e, também, da revisão de valores, comportamentos e hábitos pessoais. A conclusão aponta para a necessidade de sensibilizar a sociedade, por meio da educação ambiental nas escolas, viabilizado a mudança comportamental de forma continuada e sustentável, gerando, a só tempo, a melhoria da qualidade de vida e a preservação do meio ambiente.
