THE LEGITIMATION OF TEXTUAL PRODUCTION IN THE CYBERSPACE

Resumo: The spreading of new technologies and the facility of access to the computer andthe Internet has changed social and cultural practices significantly. After overcoming the initialvision that the Internet would be an obstacle to the educational area, we are now facing a newproblem: the non-legitimacy of textual production in cyberspace. Admittedly, the virtual networkof computers has been a plentiful field for research and a facilitator for the democratization ofaccess to articles, academic journals, e-books, etc. Similarly, the Internet has provided newexperiences in the field of reading, and has redeemed the tradition of writing in literary blogs andsites. Consequently, the high culture and educational areas, exercising its power of legitimatingoffice, have classified this production as low quality. This article tries to show how the legitimacyis built and the importance of a change of paradigm related to the digitization of writing, andtherefore, the digitization of knowledge.

Superada a visãoinicial de que a Internet seria um empecilho para a área educacional, estamos agora diante de umanova problemática: a não legitimação da produção textual no ciberespaço. Reconhecidamente, oespaço virtual da rede de computadores tem se mostrado um farto campo para pesquisas e umfacilitador para a democratização de acesso à artigos, revistas acadêmicas, e-books, etc. Damesma forma, a internet tem propiciado novas experiências no campo da leitura, e tem aindaresgatado a tradição da escrita através de blogs e sítios literários. Por conseqüência, a alta culturae os meios educacionais, exercendo o seu poder de estância legitimadora, tem classificado estaprodução como de baixa qualidade.
