Resumo: In this article, we discuss what postmodernism is, its origin and some of its characteristicas. We summarize Jean-François Lyotard, Jean Baudrillard, Jürgen Habermas and Fredric Jameson’s theories about postmodernism and seek for relating them to the literary productions that appeared in Latin America dating from 1950.
