Resumo: This article deals with the representations of the elderly in film narratives, especially the concept of the elderly, the aging process and consumption. To this end, we selected two movies: Something's Gotta Give and Bucket List, in order to deconstruct their narratives and rethink the possibilities of being old. The marketing view suggested by the media feeds consumerism with unique narratives which definites the process of inclusion and exclusion of the elderly set by a framing. The deconstruction of the film narrative expands the possibilities of educating our look to resist the hegemonic narratives that projects as a source of truth on the cinema screen, from the perspective of Cultural Studies. Discussions about aging process contributes to the development of a critical pedagogy in educating the elderly who returns to school and offer theoretical and methodological support for the training teachers who works in teaching and learning for the elderly.
