RESISTANCE TO CHANGE IN WORK PRODUCTIVE RESTRUCTURING TIMES IN A COMPANY OF THE PLASTICS SECTOR

Resumo: The article discusses the resistance to change in work productive restructuring times, from the perspective of managers and workers in general. It concerns a case study conducted in a third- generation company of the plastics sector. Data collection was made through semi-structured interviews, documental and iconographic sources and non-systematic observation of work routine. Data analysis prioritized contents analysis in the light of the pertinent theoretical reference and discussed two central axis: the facets of work productive restructuring in the company; the ways of resistance to change motivated by work productive restructuring from the perception of managers and workers in general. Results indicate that resistance to change, though manifested in different ways, can be perceived both in workers in general and in the managers responsible for implementing the changes. Resistance appears as an enigma in work routine, affecting the life styles of managers and workers in general. It shows in a subtle way, differently from the visible and opposing way commonly found in classic literature.

It shows in a subtle way, differently from the visible and opposing way commonly found in classic literature.  El artículo discute la resistencia a cambios, en tiempos de reestructuración productiva del trabajo, desde la perspectiva de los gestores y de los trabajadores en general.  Se trata de un estudio de  caso realizado en una empresa de tercera generación del sector plástico. La recogida de los datos se llevó a cabo a través de encuestas semi-estructuradas, fuentes documentales e iconográficas y observación asistemática del cotidiano del trabajo. El análisis de los datos se centró en el contenido a la luz de referencias teóricas pertinentes y discutió dos ejes centrales: las facetas de la reestructuración productiva del trabajo en la empresa; los modos de resistencia a cambios que  conlleva la reestructuración productiva del trabajo desde la perspectiva de los gestores y de los trabajadores. Los resultados indican que la resistencia a cambios, aunque se manifieste de forma distinta, se observa tanto en los trabajadores en general cuanto en los gestores a los que se les encarga la implementación de los cambios. La resistencia aparece como un enigma en el cotidiano del trabajo, afectando los modos de ser y de vivir de los gestores y de los trabajadores en general. Se muestra de forma sutil, distintamente de la forma visible y de oposición frecuentemente encontrada en la literatura clásica.O artigo discute a resistência à mudança em tempos de reestruturação produtiva do trabalho, desde a perspectiva dos gestores e dos trabalhadores em geral. Trata-se de um estudo de caso realizado em uma empresa de terceira geração do setor plástico. A coleta de dados deu-se através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, fontes documentais e iconográficas, e observação assistemática do cotidiano do trabalho. A análise dos dados priorizou a análise de conteúdo à luz do referencial teórico pertinente e discutiu dois eixos centrais: as facetas da reestruturação produtiva do trabalho na empresa; os modos de resistência à mudança provenientes da reestruturação produtiva do trabalho desde a percepção dos gestores e dos trabalhadores em geral. Os resultados indicam que a resistência à mudança, embora manifestada de forma diferenciada, se faz notar tanto nos trabalhadores em geral quanto nos gestores que são incumbidos de implementar as mudanças. A resistência aparece como um enigma no cotidiano do trabalho, atingindo os modos de ser e de viver dos gestores e dos trabalhadores em geral.
