PRODUCTIVE RESTRUCTURING AND PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES IN AN ELECTRO-ELECTRONIC COMPANY OF SANTA CATARINA

Resumo: | This article results from a case study conducted in a large sized company of the electro-electronic sector in Santa Catarina, whose aim was to understand how the productive restructuring impacted the personnel management techniques. The subjects were 5 managers and 13 workers in general. The data were collected through semi-structured individual interviews and documental sources and analyzed in the light of the relevant literature. The results indicated that the productive restructuring of work, both the personnel management-related and the technological innovation-related changes, produced different perceptions among managers and workers in general. The managers adopted new mechanisms of social relations in their work, based on consensus, responsibility, and reciprocity. By doing so they achieved good results concerning the actions developed towards the workers in general. Competitiveness and creativity were present in both groups, which differed regarding their personal interests. The workers in general sought for job stability, best opportunities and salaries, whereas the managers’ aim was increasing productivity, replacing workers with machines, and reducing time and movements. |

Los sujetos fueron 05 gestores y 13 trabajadores en general. Los datos fueron recolectados por medio de entrevistas individuales semiestructuradas y fuentes documentales, y sufrieron análisis de contenido a la luz del referencial teórico pertinente. Como resultados, se tiene que, con la reestructuración productiva del trabajo, tanto los cambios relativos a la gestión de personas, como los relativos a las innovaciones tecnológicas, produjeron percepciones distintas entre los gestores y los trabajadores en general. Los gestores adoptaron en su trabajo nuevos mecanismos de relaciones sociales basados en el consenso, responsabilidad y reciprocidad. A través de ellos han obtenido buenos resultados en relación a las acciones desencadenadas junto a los trabajadores en general. La competitividad y la creatividad se hicieron presentes en los dos grupos que difirieron en relación a sus intereses personales. Los trabajadores en general buscaban estabilidad de empleo, mayores oportunidades y sueldos, mientras los gestores buscaban aumentar la productividad, sustituir a los trabajadores por las máquinas, y reducir los tiempos y movimientos.O artigo resulta de um estudo de caso realizado em uma empresa de grande porte do setor eletro-eletrônico do estado de Santa Catarina, que buscou compreender como a reestruturação produtiva repercutiu nos modos de gestão de pessoas. Os sujeitos foram 05 gestores e 13 trabalhadores em geral. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevistas individuais semi-estruturadas e fontes documentais, e sofreram análise de conteúdo à luz do referencial teórico pertinente. Como resultados, tem-se que com a reestruturação produtiva do trabalho, tanto as mudanças relativas à gestão de pessoas, quanto às relativas às inovações tecnológicas, produziram percepções distintas entre os gestores e os trabalhadores em geral. Os gestores adotaram em seu trabalho novos mecanismos de relações sociais baseados no consenso, na responsabilidade e na reciprocidade. Através deles obtiveram bons resultados em relação às ações desencadeadas junto aos trabalhadores em geral. A competitividade e a criatividade se mostraram presentes nos dois grupos que diferiram em relação aos seus interesses pessoais.
