A decolonial perspective on teacher education and education of ethnic-racial relations

Resumo: The purpose of this study is to relate teacher training and the education of ethnic-racial relations from a decolonial perspective. We start from the assumption, also reinforced by other authors, such as Coelho and Coelho (2018), Pereira and Pereira (2020), Reis (2018), among others, that teacher training is central to the construction of anti-racist education. Thus, we analyzed some research on the inclusion of the theme of education in ethnic-racial relations in teacher training courses. We conclude that this process occurs in a fragmented and insufficient way, and that, in view of a decolonial conception, the transformation of universities needs to occur in a structural way in their organization and curriculum.

Partimos del supuesto, también reforzado por otros autores, como Coelho y Coelho (2018), Pereira y Pereira (2020), Reis (2018), entre otros, de que la formación del profesorado es fundamental para la construcción de una educación antirracista. Así, analizamos algunas investigaciones sobre la inclusión del tema de la educación en las relaciones étnico-raciales en los cursos de formación docente. Concluimos que este proceso se da de manera fragmentada e insuficiente, y que, ante una concepción descolonial, la transformación de las universidades debe ocurrir de manera estructural en su organización y currículo.O objetivo deste estudo é relacionar a formação de professores e a educação das relações étnico-raciais sob uma perspectiva decolonial. Partimos do pressuposto, reforçado também por outros autores, como Coelho e Coelho (2018), Pereira e Pereira (2020), Reis (2018), entre outros, de que a formação de professores é central para a construção de uma educação antirracista. Assim, analisamos algumas pesquisas sobre a inserção da temática da educação das relações étnico-raciais em cursos de formação de professores.
