Resumo: The present study presents a globalized scenario of actions, both Brazilian and international, regarding the decisions taken to reduce the impacts of global aviation on global warming with the use of aviation biofuels. It is characterized as an explanatory research, using bibliographical and documentary means, with a qualitative approach. The procedure for data collection is characterized as bibliographic. A historical timetable regarding biofuels in Brazil shows how we have almost a centennial connection with the research and development of alternative fuels. The study work provides an overview of the current scenario of the aviation biofuel sector, identifies public and private entities involved in research, development and innovation in accordance with international norms and rules, as well as those inherent to each State, aiming and the environmental situation. In analyzing the results it is concluded that the current scenario of aviation biofuels is in full development and with extremely strong partnerships between countries, extrapolating old trade and market barriers, mainly between private sector companies.

Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa explicativa, utilizando de meios bibliográficos e documentais, com abordagem qualitativa. O procedimento para coleta de dados caracteriza-se como bibliográfico. Um cronograma histórico a respeito dos biocombustíveis no Brasil, mostra como temos uma ligação quase que centenária com a pesquisa e desenvolvimento dos combustíveis alternativos. O trabalho obtém uma visão do cenário atual do setor de biocombustíveis para aviação, identifica as entidades públicas e privadas envolvidas em pesquisa, desenvolvimento e inovação de acordo com as normas e regras internacionais, bem como aquelas inerentes a cada Estado, visando e se preocupando com a situação ambiental.
