Resumo: The presented work brought the discussion on the future of fuels in aviation. For some time, the kerosene came to be used in the industry bringing benefits as a cleaner burning fuel, but with the industry growth and consumption ever higher fossil fuel impacts on the environment are already recognized as highly harmful other issues such as the shortage of sources for fossil fuels and high oil prices have also been considered to justify the importance that has been given to research aimed at formulating biofuels for aviation. Thus, the study was overall objective describe research seeking to develop new types of aviation fuels and respond to the problem of aviation fuel which proposes to use in the future. The methodology to meet the objectives of the work and presented the research was exploratory procedure with bibliographic and documentary, qualitative. The main results identified the biofuels are used in the future, ie, a concern of the researchers is to develop and manufacture renewable fuels considering such aspects as cost, availability, environmental, and operational feasibility. Research has advanced considerably, but not yet fulfill all the requirements to supply aircraft in the commercial sector, so that, for example, the characteristics desirable for fuels in the sector, availability and price are still being pursued by researchers.

Há algum tempo que o querosene passou a ser usado no setor trazendo benefícios como uma queima mais limpa do combustível, mas com o crescimento do setor e o consumo cada vez mais alto de combustível fóssil os impactos sobre o meio ambiente já são contabilizados como altamente nocivos, outras questões como a escassez de fontes para combustíveis fósseis e o alto preço do petróleo também têm sido considerados para justificar a importância que tem sido dada a pesquisas que visam formular biocombustíveis para a aeronáutica. Assim, o trabalho teve por objetivo geral descrever pesquisas que buscam desenvolver novos tipos de combustíveis para aviação e responder à problemática de quais combustíveis a aviação se propõe a utilizar no futuro. Na metodologia para atender aos objetivos do trabalho desenvolvido e apresentado a pesquisa foi exploratória com procedimento bibliográfico e documental, de natureza qualitativa. Os principais resultados encontrados identificaram que os biocombustíveis serão utilizados no futuro, ou seja, a preocupação de pesquisadores é desenvolver e fabricar combustíveis de fonte renovável considerando aspectos como preço, disponibilidade, o meio ambiente e viabilidade operacional.
