This research addresses budget diferences between expected and executed. Through a case study. Which considers from the conception stage of the physical schedule to the control of the execution, carried out through monitoring during the development of a civil construction work in the city of Florianópolis - SC. Issues related to budget, direct and indirect costs, cost composition and mainly cost control and tools to assist in its application, such as the ABC Curve. Having the objective of analyze the stages of the construction that most influenced the increase in costs, since the costs will be directly linked to the activities carried out in the production process, and the schedule delay, as well as the causes that led to it. Discusses project and resource planning concepts, budgeting methods, and execution schedule. In conclusion, there is a direct influence of the planning of the construction on the variation of its cost.
