The theme addressed in this monographic work is multidisciplinary, encompassing Civil Law, Notarial Law and Constitutional Law. The purpose of this study is to analyze the alteration of the name and gender of the transgender person in the Civil Registry of Natural Persons. As for the research, the method of deductive approach and the model of bibliographic and documentary research were used, analyzing the applicable legislation, relevant doctrinal understanding and jurisprudence. Firstly, the name and gender were analyzed as members of the personality rights of the natural person, also making an analysis in its civil constitutional perspective. Subsequently, the Public Registers Law was examined in terms of its characteristics and the principles that apply to it. Finally, it was verified the possibility of altering the name and gender of the transgender person, independently of the performance of the sexual reassignment surgery, punctuating the judgment of the Direct Action of Unconstitutionality n. 4.275 / DF, judged on March 1, 2018 and the Extraordinary Appeal, with general repercussions, n. 670.422/RS, judged on August 15, 2018, which allowed the change of the name and gender of the direct transsexual person in the Civil Registry of the Natural Person. Finished with the approach of Provision n. 73/2018 of the National Council of Justice, which standardizes the attendance in the services on the change of the name and gender in the civil seats of the people that are in this condition. .
