This work aims to analyze the risks of ionizing radiation to the crew and frequent users of aircraft. The author examines the relationship between ionizing radiation present in high altitude flights and exposure to this type of radiation in aeronauts and the frequent users of air transport. This research is exploratory, with bibliographic and documentary procedure. It relates radiation exposure to the devastating health effects of aeronauts and public users. It points out the existence of tools that estimate the effective dose that an aircraft occupant receives during a flight. This study brings an equivalence between the dose received in a flight and a common X-ray. It alerts pregnant women about the risks of the fetus developing permanent or fatal structural anomalies when performing long-distance flights. It states that this topic is known to the aeronautical industry and to date, there are few actions to mitigate these risks. It determines some actions for the prevention of risks involved in the health of aeronaut professionals and users in general of air transport. Informs the aeronautical community about the importance of recognizing the profession as occupationally exposed. The work does not exhaust all research possibilities. It is an important and essential theme for new investigations and studies.
