Resumo: The present work of course conclusion was developed through bibliographic and jurisprudential researches, and presents an evolutionary analysis of the historical context of social security that begins from the beginning, in which the protection was restricted and private, passing through the emergence of Social Security, reaching the present day. The objective is to bring a broad and summarized view of social security, expose the kind of retirement by age brought by Law No. 11.718/2008, defined by the doctrine as hybrid retirement, clarify the respective requirements for its granting and the principles applicable to it. In order to clarify the recent STJ position on the matter, it is concluded that with respect to the controversy, it remained to recognize the possibility of using rural service time prior to 1991 as a grace period.

O objetivo é trazer uma visão ampla e resumida da seguridade social, expor a espécie de aposentadoria por idade trazida pela Lei nº 11.718/2008, definida pela doutrina como aposentadoria híbrida, esclarecer sobre os respectivos requisitos para sua concessão e os princípios a ela aplicáveis.
