The present monograph aims to identify what is considered contemporary slavery in Brazil, its main causes, who are the victims affected and how these conditions violate the norms inserted in the Brazilian legislation, highlighting the constitutional principles. Initially a brief historical analysis of slavery is made. Following with the presentation of some concepts, analyzing the profile of the victims of slave labor and highlighting the characteristics of slavery in the Brazilian contemporary. Subsequently, some international treaties and conventions that are important in the struggle against slave labor are followed, following the study of constitutional labor standards and insfraconstitutional legislation infringed by conditions similar to slave conditions. Finally, the most relevant measures to combat slave labor, both governmental and social, are identified and the main challenges faced in the search for the eradication of contemporary slavery in Brazil are identified. The study of all the work is based on bibliographical and legislative research. It is concluded that in order to achieve the objective of extinguishing slave labor in the country, it is necessary to implement the norms and foundations contained in the Federal Constitution, in addition to the respect and application, in fact, of the laws envisaged infraconstitucionalmente, through public measures directed to the reduction of social inequalities, taking into account that lack of education, knowledge, misery and unemployment are the main contributors to the subjection of the individual to slavery.
