The purpose of this paper is to analyze the civil proceedings in the light of the principle of cooperation based on doctrinal understandings and current legislation. A joint reading is made with the principles of due process of law, contradictory and good faith, in order to identify the new procedural paradigms. For that, the qualitative approach was used, since it aims to know the subjects' perceptions regarding the object of the investigation. With regard to the procedure, the bibliographical was used, mainly using doctrines, articles and the legislation. Regarding the level of depth used in the research, an exploratory study was carried out, seeking to ensure greater intimacy with the object of the study. At the end of the research, it was verified that the Cooperation Principle aims to give the process a structure formed based on the dialogue between the parties, resizing the contradictory, with the purpose of giving greater support to the judicial decision. In this way, it was concluded that the model of collaborative process requires the parties to adopt a more proactive stance, trying to overcome the vices that can be remedied in order to obtain the merit of the case fairly and effectively.
