Resumo: There are important recommendations that must be developed for the Pedagogical Project, which represents the undergraduate dental course planning for the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Undergraduate Dentistry Courses in Brazil. This Project must be clear in its definition of the undergraduate profile and consistent in its work with competencies, abilities and curriculum. Dental education research is emphasized for the consideration of the courses. The National Curriculum Guidelines drive a paradigmatic change in the education of dental surgeons as health professionals and emphasize strategies for integration in the teaching of dentistry.

Com o objetivo de adequação às Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais dos Cursos de Graduação em Odontologia, este Projeto deve ser claro na definição do perfil do graduando e coerente no trabalho das competências, habilidades e conteúdo. Pesquisas sobre ensino são destacadas para a reflexão sobre o Curso.
