Social psychology & fashion: a feasible interface

Resumo: Social psychology is a branch of psychology which is on the threshold of psychology and sociology. It is a field with wide application, since it studies the human action in diverse situations, and it involves the relation of the individual with a group. In this way, this paper aimed to present some of the great themes of social psychology (self, attitudes and behavior, group influence, culture and values, personality, emotions, and social neuroscience) and demonstrate the feasible interfaces of these topics with fashion. Through a bibliographical research it is shown that there is a possibility of dialogue between the theories of social psychology and fashion. Finally, we suggest research topics in which the exposed themes can contribute to studies developed in the field of fashion.

É um campo com vasta aplicação, pois estuda a ação humana nas mais diversas situações, desde que envolva a relação do indivíduo com um grupo social. Desta forma, o objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar alguns dos grandes temas da psicologia social (self, atitudes e comportamento, influência do grupo, cultura e valores, personalidade, emoções e neurociência social) e evidenciar interfaces possíveis com a moda. Por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, demonstrase que é real essa possibilidade de diálogo entre as teorias da psicologia social e da moda.
