Resumo: The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is an indicator used as a management and continuous improvement of machinery and equipment, useful to identify losses, thus reducing production costs. In order to examine in more detail the application of OEE in the production system of a company in the beverage industry of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, was performed by means of literature search and descriptive, and using the case study method, a remark in the production system of the company Alfa, in the period from January to November 2008. The results from this research show the application of OEE in eleven steps, the statistical analysis of the results of this indicator shows a positive trend in the initial stage because of the improvements achieved in the production system through actions for elimination / reduction of losses, revealing that the manager can make improvements that may be necessary.

O Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) é um indicador utilizado como forma de gestão e melhoria contínua de máquinas e equipamentos, útil ao identificar perdas, reduzindo assim os custos de produção. Por meio da análise dos resultados deste indicador, o gestor de operação deve tomar decisões que visem à melhor forma de eliminar ou, pelo menos, reduzir as perdas no processo. Com o intuito de analisar com mais detalhes a aplicação do indicador OEE no sistema produtivo de uma empresa do setor de bebidas do Pólo Industrial de Manaus, foi realizada, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e descritiva, e com a utilização do método de estudo de caso, uma observação no sistema produtivo da empresa Alfa, no período de janeiro a novembro de 2008. Os resultados obtidos com esta pesquisa apresentam a aplicação do OEE realizada em onze etapas, a análise estatística dos resultados revela uma tendência positiva em relação ao estágio inicial devido às melhorias alcançadas no sistema produtivo por meio de ações para eliminação/redução de perdas.
