The humanization in Dentistry: a reflection on educational practice

Resumo: | This article consists of a reflection focused on prevailing educational legislation on the educative practice conducted in some odontology courses and its effects on the training of students in this area. Based on a data bank survey, it was found that there are still few research projects about this topic. This article points to the important role that the teacher plays in the teachinglearning process, although still based on the traditional methodology. It suggests, also, the imminent need for reorienting the model so that the professionals may have a generalist, humanist, critical and reflective training, dialogical and humanized between teacher and student. It concludes that the implementation of humanized educative practice has occurred slowly. |

A partir de um levantamento de base de dados, verificou-se que o número de pesquisa que abordam a prática do tema ainda é muito escasso. O artigo em questão aponta para o importante papel que o professor desempenha no processo ensino-aprendizagem, embora, ainda calcado na metodologia tradicional. Sugere a iminente necessidade de reorientação do modelo a fim de que os profissionais tenham sua formação humanizada.
