Resumo: Combating the spread of fake news and health misinformation has been identified as one of the biggest current challenges within global public health. Psychiatry and areas related to mental health are especially impacted by the lack of health education, as these are still strongly related to stigma and social marginalization. In this article, we will address the advantages and limitations of the use of information and communication technologies as psychoeducation tools, pointing out future directions for the development of these technologies.

La psiquiatría y las áreas relacionadas con la salud mental se ven especialmente impactadas por la falta de educación en salud, ya que aún están fuertemente relacionadas con el estigma y la marginación social. En este artículo abordaremos las ventajas y limitaciones del uso de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación como herramientas de psicoeducación, señalando direcciones futuras para el desarrollo de estas tecnologías.O combate a disseminação de notícias falsas e a desinformação em saúde tem sido apontado como um dos maiores desafios atuais dentro da saúde coletiva mundial.
