Resumo: This article understands that the design activity builds and participates in the relationships between the individual, society, and the natural and artificial environments. Such understanding leads to the issues of autonomy and heteronomy, and how the design activity deals with these issues. To this end, the different perspectives on the formation of socialization processes in Durkheim and Simmel are observed, as well as the differences in the understanding of what is a project in an essay by Tomás Maldonado.

Tal comprensión conduce a los problemas de autonomía y heteronomía, y cómo la actividad de diseño trata estos problemas. Para ello, se observan las distintas perspectivas sobre la formación de los procesos de socialización en Durkheim y Simmel, así como las diferencias en la comprensión de lo que es un proyecto en un ensayo de Tomás Maldonado.Partindo do entendimento que a atividade projetual constrói e participa das relações entre indivíduo, sociedade, e os ambientes natural e artificial, este artigo retoma as preocupações acerca das questões da autonomia e heteronomia, e como a atividade projetual lida com essas questões.
