Teaching drawing in Graphic Design: an analysis of scenarios and a proposal for Brazil based on the design process and an interdisciplinary approach

Resumo: This article presents part of the doctoral thesis by Zimmermann (2016) and presents an analysis of scenarios of teaching drawing both in Brazil and the United Kingdom. A proposal is also presented for teaching drawing based on the design process and an interdisciplinary approach in Graphic Design. The method of the study is qualitative, exploratory, with an inductive approach, including a field study in the scenarios. Data were categorised and analysed through content analysis, thereby establishing the foundation for a proposal of teaching draw-ing. The proposal includes curricular changes and drawing activities, addressing the design process and relationships between disciplines. Finally, the reflections generated from this study have indicated the possibility of expanding research in design applied to design training in Brazil, as well as the importance of inter-disciplinary studies.

La investigación es de naturaleza cualitativa, exploratoria, con un enfoque inductivo, con el estudio de campo de los escenarios. La información se analizó utilizando el método de análisis de contenido, sirviendo como subsidio para la elaboración de una propuesta curricular y la enseñanza del dibujo dirigida a las diversas funcio-nes del dibujo en el proceso de diseño, estableciendo relaciones entre disciplinas. Fi-nalmente, las reflexiones generadas a partir de este estudio indicaron la posibilidad de ampliar la investigación de diseño aplicada a la capacitación en diseño en Brasil, así como la importancia de los estudios interdisciplinarios.Esse artigo sumariza parte da tese de doutorado de Zimmermann (2016) e apresenta uma análise de cenários de ensino do desenho no Brasil e Reino Unido e uma proposta projetual e interdisciplinar para a formação em Design Gráfico. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa, do tipo exploratório, com abordagem indutiva, com o estudo de campo dos cenários. As informações foram analisadas através do método da análise de conteúdo, servindo de subsídio para a elaboração de uma proposta curricular e de ensino do desenho direcionada as variadas funções do desenho no processo projetual, es-tabelecendo relações entre disciplinas.
