Electric fields: an interpretation of the poem Poema Sujo

Resumo: This article offers an interpretation of the poem Poema Sujo considering the connection between the poet’s lightning, which “lights up past continents”, and the fulgurate image that the philosopher Walter Benjamin used in his concept of dialectic image. The image of lightning is a recurring theme in the poem and unfolds in a range of different registers: as the flash in the dark night of the past, memories (flashes) in the poet’s body, and in the manifestation of the poem itself. This article uses the tension between these heterogeneous times to reflect on the notion of image connected to the dimension of time.---DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.25094/rtp.2017n23a421

La imagen del relámpago es recurrente en el poema y se desdobla en diferentes registros: es fulgor en la noche oscura del pasado, son recuerdos (destellos) en el cuerpo del poeta y es también la propia manifestación del poema. El artículo se vale de esta tensión de tiempos heterogéneos para reflexionar sobre una noción de imagen asociada a la dimensión del tiempo.---DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.25094/rtp.2017n23a421O artigo faz uma leitura do Poema Sujo a partir da conexão entre o relâmpago do poeta, que “clareia os continentes passados”, e a imagem fulgurante do filósofo alemão Walter Benjamin contida na sua noção de imagem dialética. A imagem do relâmpago é recorrente no poema e se desdobra em diferentes registros: é clarão na noite escura do passado, são as lembranças (lampejos) no corpo do poeta e é também a própria manifestação do poema.
