Resumo: | After Brazilian Constitution of 1988, since 2002, we have seen the emergence of co-officialization laws of indigenous languages and linguistic maintenance in different Brazilian municipalities. These policies express educational measures capable of contributing to the protection of the cultural and linguistic plurality. This research is important because it perceives language education as a mechanism for recognizing and valuing Brazilian diversity and promoting progressive implementation of linguistic rights, despite glottophobic practices. Through an investigative study, we propose a comparative analysis between these laws and the education plans, seeking a harmony between them to consolidate the language rights of these communities. This documentary research is based on the concepts of linguistic rights, language policies and glottophobia. The results point out to contradictions and documental paradoxes between the public educational language policies that promote indigenous languages and the strategies for their implementation. |
