TRANSMEDIA ACTIVISM IN THE 2018 ELECTIONS IN BRAZIL: the semiosis of #CadêAProva [#WhereIsTheProof]

Resumo: The hashtag #CadêAProva emerged during Lula's trial in January 2018 and was appropriated by supporters of Jair Bolsonaro's candidacy in the presidential election. Through collection on social networks, we verified this process of resignification, characterized here as transmedia activism because it involves social mobilization in online/offline connections. Given this, we seek to understand what characterizes #CadêAProva's semiosis and how this process reveals unique aspects of transmedia activism in the context of Brazil's presidential election in 2018. As a result, the transmedia resignification of the narrative mediated by #CadêAProva occurred through the hybrid set of signs able to potentiate the symbolic chain of hashtags and thereby promote engagement by adherence (emotional interpretant), mobilization (energetic interpretant) and activism (logical interpretant).

Mediante la recopilación en las redes sociales en línea, verificamos este proceso de resignificación, caracterizado aquí como activismo transmedia porque implica la movilización social en conexiones en línea/fuera de línea. Ante esto, buscamos comprender qué caracteriza la semiosis de #CadêAProva y cómo este proceso revela aspectos únicos del activismo transmedia en el contexto de las elecciones presidenciales de Brasil en 2018.  Como resultado, la resignificación transmediatica de la narrativa mediada por #CadêAProva se produjo a través del conjunto híbrido de signos capaces de potenciar la cadena simbólica de los hashtags y, por lo tanto, promover el compromiso mediante la adherencia (interpretante emocional), la movilización (interpretante energético) y el activismo (interpretante lógico).A hashtag #CadêAProva surgiu durante o julgamento de Lula, em janeiro de 2018, e foi apropriada, em outubro do mesmo ano, pelos apoiadores à candidatura de Jair Bolsonaro, na eleição presidencial. Por meio de coleta nas redes sociais on-line, verificamos o processo de ressignificação da narrativa mediada pela hashtag, aqui caracterizado como ativismo transmídia por envolver mobilização social em conexões on-line/off-line. Diante disso, buscamos compreender o que caracteriza a semiose de #CadêAProva e de que modo tal processo revela aspectos singulares do ativismo transmídia no contexto das eleições presidenciais do Brasil em 2018.
