Well-founded illusions: teaching work, memory and autobiography

Resumo: This article aims, from the position I occupy (occupied) in a given social field and making use of a famous formula by Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) transformed by Bourdieu (“the world contains me and swallows me like a point, but I contain it"), to present a point of view regarding my school trajectory, with emphasis on some outstanding teacher(s), decisive in my formative process. The autobiographical narrative begins with my entry into primary school, in 1960, recovers the anguishes experienced to face the then existing “admission exam”, recalls the permanence in the old high school course, in the scientific course, as well as attending the university, in addition to pursue my research career. In each of the segments, an attempt is made to detail the actions of those teachers who contributed, in the exercise of their métier - in some truly exemplary cases -, so that I could convincingly support part of my illusions symbolic. I use a varied bibliography that, interacting with memory, with what has been lived, allows me to highlight the teaching work as a transforming variable of specific destinations.

La narración autobiográfica comienza con mi ingreso a la escuela primaria, en 1960, recupera las angustias vividas para enfrentar el “examen de admisión” entonces existente, recuerda la permanencia en el antiguo curso de bachillerato, en el curso científico, además de asistir a la universidad, además de seguir mi carrera investigadora. En cada uno de los segmentos se intenta detallar la actuación de aquellos maestros que contribuyeron, en el ejercicio de su oficio -en algunos casos verdaderamente ejemplares-, a que yo pudiera sustentar fehacientemente parte de mis ilusiones simbólicas. Utilizo una bibliografía variada que, interactuando con la memoria, con lo vivido, me permite destacar la labor docente como variable transformadora de destinos específicos.O presente artigo tem como objetivo, a partir da posição que ocupo (ei) num determinado campo social e valendo-me de uma fórmula célebre de Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) transformada por Bourdieu (“o mundo me contem e me engole como um ponto, mas eu o contenho”), apresentar um ponto de vista a respeito de minha trajetória escolar, com destaque para algumas/uns professora(e)s marcantes, decisivos em meu processo formativo. A narrativa autobiográfica tem início com meu ingresso no curso primário, em 1960, recupera as angústias experimentadas para enfrentar o então existente “exame de admissão”, relembra a permanência no antigo curso ginasial, no curso científico, bem como o cursar da universidade, além de prosseguir em minha carreira de pesquisador. Em cada um dos segmentos procura-se detalhar as ações daquela(e)s professora(e)s que contribuíram, no exercício de seu métier - em alguns casos realmente exemplares -, para que eu fundamentasse de forma convincente para mim parte de minhas ilusões simbólicas.
