Artisans Apprentices School: an analysis of pedagogical practices throughout the First Republic

Resumo: The aim of this study is to analyze different works reported in the literature about the foundation of the Artisans Apprentices School (Escolas de Aprendizes Artífices) in their historical context, whose focus of investigation is the pedagogical practices employed in this institutions that were the precursors of professional education in Brazil from 1909. As a criterion for the articles selection, it was selected those with the name “Escola de Aprendizes Artífices” in the title. The methodological approach is qualitative which analysis procedure consists of the Work of Translation referenced in Boaventura de S. Santos. It was found that the Artisans Apprentices Schools were mostly guided by national politic economy. Furthermore, regarding pedagogical practices, the presence of the intuitive method on different proposals was verified.

Furthermore, regarding pedagogical practices, the presence of the intuitive method on different proposals was verified.El objetivo de este estudio es analizar diferentes trabajos reportados en la literatura sobre la creación de Escuelas de Aprendices Artesanos (Escolas de Aprendizes Artífices) en su contexto histórico, cuyo foco de investigación son las prácticas pedagógicas empleadas en estas instituciones precursoras de la educación profesional en Brasil a partir de 1909. Como criterio de selección de los artículos, fueron seleccionados aquellos con el nombre “Escola de Aprendizes Artífices” en el título. El enfoque metodológico es cualitativo cuyo procedimiento de análisis consiste en la Obra de Traducción referenciada en Boaventura de S. Santos. Se encontró que las Escuelas de Aprendices de Artesanos estaban guiadas en su mayoría por la economía política nacional. Además, en cuanto a las prácticas pedagógicas, se verificó la presencia del método intuitivo en diferentes propuestas.Le but de cette étude est d'analyser différents travaux rapportés dans la littérature sur la création des École d'Apprentis Artisans (Escolas de Aprendizes Artífices) dans leur contexte historique, dont l'objet d'investigation est les pratiques pédagogiques employées dans cette institution précurseur de l'enseignement professionnel au Brésil à partir de 1909. Comme critère de sélection des articles, ceux dont le titre portait le nom «Escolas de Aprendizes Artífices» ont été sélectionnés. L'approche méthodologique est qualitative dont la procédure d'analyse consiste en l'œuvre de traduction référencée à Boaventura de S. Santos. Il a été constaté que les écoles d'apprentis artisans étaient principalement guidées par la économie politique nationale. Par ailleurs, concernant les pratiques pédagogiques, la présence de la méthode intuitive sur différentes propositions a été vérifiée.O estudo adota por objetivo analisar diferentes trabalhos reportados na literatura sobre a criação das Escolas de Aprendizes Artífices em seu contexto histórico, cujo foco de investigação são as práticas pedagógicas empregadas nessas instituições precursoras da educação profissional no Brasil a partir de 1909. Como critério de seleção de artigos, foram selecionados os que apresentam o nome “Escola de Aprendizes Artífices” no título. A abordagem metodológica é qualitativa cujo procedimento de análise consiste no Trabalho de Tradução referendado em Boaventura de S. Santos. Verificou-se que essas escolas foram majoritariamente guiadas pela economia política nacional.
