The Usability of Digital Technological Resources: the Perspective of a University Extension Course Linked to Initial Training

Resumo:  This article is guided by two main objectives: the description of the functionality of the technological resources proposed in an extension course in the Distance Education modality with a group of Mathematics undergraduate students from private and public institutions in the State of Rio de Janeiro and in the reflection of the interactivity between these students and the technologies used. To do so, we will contribute to the theoretical assumptions that bring their discussions about the concepts of initial training of Mathematics teachers and their training practices in extension, in order to collaborate in the consolidation of the debate on the effect of a complementary training parallel to the graduation period. We will also reflect on the discussion promoted by the need to support digital technologies (DT) in the execution of extension courses, which are increasingly constituted in digital media. In order to respond to this investigation, we propose to describe how the operation of such technological resources supported the extension course, in particular the usability of the GeoGebra platform as a tool capable of enhancing geometric concepts essential to the initial training of Mathematics undergraduates. Thus, the research from which this article originated has its qualitative nature immersed in an explanatory approach. We add that this type of approach investigates something new from the perspective of articulating ideas and seeks to understand the causes and effects of a given phenomenon. As results, we point to the (re)signification of some fundamental concepts of geometries (flat and spatial), after the participation of the extension course participants.   Keywords: Usability. Este artículo está orientado por una doble intención: (i) describir la funcionalidad de los recursos tecnológicos utilizados en un curso de extensión, en la modalidad de Educación a Distancia (EaD), con estudiantes de grado en Matemáticas de instituciones públicas y privadas del Estado de Río de Janeiro. y (ii) discutir la interactividad entre los participantes del curso y dichos recursos tecnológicos. Desde la perspectiva de los aportes de las teorías que promueven la discusión de los conceptos de interregno educativo tecnológico, formación inicial de profesores de Matemática y práctica formativa en extensión, pretendemos suscitar el debate a fin de fundamentar el efecto paralelo de una formación complementaria concomitante a el período de graduación. Reflexionaremos también sobre la discusión sobre la necesidad de apoyar las tecnologías digitales (TD) siguiendo cursos de extensión, que se entrelazan con una realidad digital cada vez más imperativa. Para dar respuesta a esta investigación, se describe cómo el funcionamiento de los recursos tecnológicos utilizados hizo posible el curso de extensión, en particular la usabilidad de la plataforma GeoGebra como herramienta que potencia tanto los conceptos geométricos para la formación inicial de los estudiantes de Matemáticas. La investigación que dio origen a este artículo tiene un carácter cualitativo inmerso en un enfoque explicativo. Este tipo de enfoque se guía por investigar algo nuevo desde la perspectiva de articular ideas y buscar comprender las causas y efectos de un fenómeno dado. Los resultados de esta investigación indican la (re)significación de algunos conceptos de geometrías, planta y espacio, después de la participación de los participantes del curso en el trabajo en la acción de extensión. Norteamos este artigo por dois objetivos principais: a descrição da funcionalidade dos recursos tecnológicos propostos em um curso de extensão na modalidade da Educação a Distância junto a um grupo de graduandos de licenciatura em Matemática provenientes de instituições privadas e públicas do Estado do Rio de Janeiro e, na reflexão da interatividade entre esses estudantes e as tecnologias utilizadas. Para tanto, iremos nos ancorar nos pressupostos teóricos que trazem suas discussões acerca dos conceitos de formação inicial de professores de Matemática e suas práticas formativas na extensão, de modo a colaborar na consolidação do debate do efeito de uma formação complementar paralela ao período de graduação. Refletiremos ainda a discussão promovida pela necessidade do suporte das tecnologias digitais (TD) na execução de cursos de extensão, que se constituem cada vez mais em meio digital. No sentido de redarguir a essa investigação, nos propomos a descrever como o funcionamento de tais recursos tecnológicos amparou o curso de extensão, em especial a usabilidade da plataforma GeoGebra enquanto ferramenta capaz de potencializar conceitos geométricos imprescindíveis a formação inicial dos licenciandos de Matemática. Dessa forma, a pesquisa da qual originou esse artigo tem sua natureza qualitativa imersa em uma abordagem explicativa. Acrescentamos que esse tipo de abordagem investiga algo novo na perspectiva da articulação de ideias e busca compreender causas e efeitos de determinado fenômeno. Enquanto resultados apontamos para a (res)significação de alguns conceitos fundamentais das geometrias (plana e espacial), após a participação dos cursistas curso de extensão.   Palavras-chave: Usabilidade.
