Evasion in MOOC Courses: a Case Study

Resumo: | This research investigated the reasons that led students to drop out of the course Lei das Íguas, offered by the Training Portal of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANA), configuring evasion. To achieve this objective, data collection consisted of the analysis of the course and associated reports available in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), closed-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. Data analysis of semi-structured interviews was performed according to content analysis and methodological triangulation for systematization. The results show that the reasons for students to drop out of this course are related to the lack of time for dedication to the course and family problems. Keywords: Evasion. Online courses. MOOC. |

Esta pesquisa investigou os motivos que levaram os estudantes à desistência do curso Lei das Íguas, oferecido pelo Portal de Capacitação da Agência Nacional de Íguas e Saneamento Básico (ANA), configurando evasão. Para atingir esse objetivo, a coleta de dados consistiu na análise do curso e dos relatórios associados disponíveis no Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA), questionário fechado e entrevistas semiestruturadas. A análise dos dados das entrevistas semiestruturadas foi realizada de acordo com a análise de conteúdo e para a sistematização, a triangulação metodológica. Os resultados apontam que os motivos de evasão dos estudantes nesse curso estão relacionados a falta de tempo para dedicação ao curso e problemas familiares. Palavras-chave: Evasão. Cursos on-line.
