Engagement of Parents in School Trajectory: a Survey of Online Communication Tools in São Paulo State Technical Schools

Resumo: The online engagement of students and their families in schools is intensified at the beginning of 2020, with additional demands posed by the pandemic CoViD-19, raising multiple issues related to homeoffice and online education, as well as new and modified ways to relate to these actors. This study addresses the involvement of parents and guardians in the school trajectory of high school students, based on access to online academic information at the State Technical Schools [Etec] in São Paulo, Brazil. This is a documentary research carried out among 21 school units linked to the Centro Estadual de Educação Tecnológica Paula Souza. We start from the assumption that, with the adoption of information and communication tools, it would be possible to communicate more quickly to parents about the results and school performance, expanding the participation of these and the students themselves, taking them to accountability for their school trajectory and periodic reassessment. Among the results, we note the inequality between parental access in urban and agricultural school clusters, with additional problems to the units that had lower results in the results of institutional assessments. It was also possible to look for institutional improvements in aspects of school management and information, focused especially on a large public educational system. CEETEPS.A participação remota dos alunos e suas famílias nas escolas foi intensificada no início do ano de 2020, com demandas adicionais impostas pela pandemia da CoViD-19, o que também impactou o Brasil. Suscitando múltiplas questões relacionadas ao teletrabalho e a educação online, são requisitadas novas e modificadas maneiras das escolas se relacionarem com estes atores. O presente estudo procurou explorar o envolvimento de pais e responsáveis na vida escolar dos alunos de ensino médio e técnico, a partir do acesso às informações acadêmicas online nas Escolas Técnicas Estaduais [Etec] de São Paulo. Trata de uma pesquisa documental realizada entre 21 unidades escolares ligadas ao Centro Estadual de Educação Tecnológica Paula Souza - CEETEPS. Partimos do pressuposto de que, com a adoção de ferramentas de informação e comunicação, seria possível uma comunicação mais ágil aos pais dos resultados e do aproveitamento escolar, ampliando a participação destes e dos próprios alunos, levando-os à responsabilização pela sua vida escolar e periódica reavaliação de seu desempenho. Quanto aos resultados obtidos, notamos a desigualdade entre os acessos dos pais nos agrupamentos de escolas urbanas e agrícolas, com problemas adicionais às unidades que apresentavam resultados mais baixos nos indicadores pedagógicos de avaliações institucionais. Também foi possível perscrutar melhorias em aspectos de gestão escolar e da informação, focalizadas especialmente em um grande sistema educacional público. Palavras-chave: Envolvimento na escola.
