Resumo: This work addresses and discusses fundamental concepts for understanding the debate on Integral Education in the current educational scenario, as well as the legislation that guides it. Additionally, the Full-Time School Program was discussed as a policy promoting integral education, addressing its context, as well as the debate related to its implementation and compliance with Goal 6 of the National Education Plan 2014-2024. Therefore, we understand the importance assumed by the program as an inductive strategy for Integral Education in Brazil, ensuring, through its 5 axes, quality and equity in the provision of full-time education. The constant discontinuity that plagues Integral Education in Brazil is regrettable; however, we are hopeful that the new program can bring equitable and possible education to Brazilian students.

Adicionalmente, discutiu-se o Programa Escola em Tempo Integral como uma política promotora da educação integral, abordando o seu contexto, bem como o debate relacionado à sua implantação e ao cumprimento da Meta 6 do Plano Nacional de Educação 2014-2024. Logo,  entendemos  a  importância  assumida  pelo programa como estratégia indutora da Educação Integral no Brasil, garantindo, através dos seus 5 eixos,  a qualidade e a equidade na oferta do tempo integral.
