THE PERCEPTION OF PARENTS OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH AUTISM ABOUT SCHOOL INCLUSION

Resumo: | Autism, according to medical conventions, is characterized as a neurodevelopmental disorder whose symptoms present in the spheres of language, behavior and socialization. Such a diagnosis changes family relationships, producing a work of mourning for the imagined child, outlining, by extension, the possible and impossible paths to schooling. This article investigates the perceptions of parents of children and adolescents with autisms regarding inclusion in Regular Education at a school in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre/RS. Seven parents who had children enrolled in the educational institution participated in the study. Two instruments were used to collect data, namely: sociodemographic questionnaire and semi-structured interview guide. The interviews were recorded and transcribed in full. Afterwards, the theoretical corpus was analyzed based on the assumptions of Bardin's Content Analysis, with the help of the MAXQDA software. As a theoretical framework, assumptions originating from psychoanalytic studies in dialogue with education were adopted. The results indicated emotional impacts on parents in situations of social exclusion, greatly affecting their interaction with the social environment. On the other hand, it pointed out that school is an important space for students’ socio-emotional development and support in their paths to be crossed. |

El autismo, según las convenciones médicas, se caracteriza como un trastorno del neurodesarrollo cuya sintomatología se presenta en las esferas del lenguaje, el comportamiento y la socialización. Dicho diagnóstico modifica las relaciones familiares, produciendo un trabajo de duelo ante al hijo imaginado, dibujando, por extensión, los caminos posibles e imposibles para la escolarización. Este artículo investiga las percepciones de los padres de niños y adolescentes con autismo acerca de la inclusión en la educación regular de una escuela de la región metropolitana de Porto Alegre, Brasil. Participaron en el estudio siete padres que tenían hijos matriculados en la institución educativa. Se utilizaron dos instrumentos para la recolección de datos: un cuestionario sociodemográfico y un guión de entrevista semiestructurada. Las entrevistas fueron grabadas y transcritas íntegramente. Posteriormente, el corpus teórico fue analizado según los supuestos del análisis de contenido de Bardin, con la ayuda del software MAXQDA. Se adoptaron, como referencial teórico, supuestos originarios de los estudios psicoanalíticos en diálogo con la educación. Los resultados señalaron impactos emocionales en los padres ante situaciones de exclusión social, afectando en gran medida la interacción de estos con el medio social. Por otro lado, señalan que la escuela es un espacio importante para el desarrollo socioemocional de los estudiantes con autismo y el apoyo frente a sus trayectos. Tal diagnóstico modifica as relações familiares, produzindo um trabalho de luto ante ao filho imaginado, desenhando, por extensão, os caminhos possíveis e impossíveis à escolarização. Este artigo investiga as percepções de pais de crianças e adolescentes com autismos acerca da inclusão no Ensino Regular de uma escola da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre/RS. Participaram do estudo sete pais que possuíam filhos matriculados na instituição de ensino. Lançou-se mão de dois instrumentos para a coleta de dados, a saber: questionário sociodemográfico e roteiro de entrevista semiestruturado. As entrevistas foram gravadas e transcritas na íntegra. Após, o corpus teórico foi analisado a partir dos pressupostos da Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin, com auxílio do software MAXQDA. Se adotou, como referencial teórico, pressupostos oriundos dos estudos psicanalíticas em diálogo com a educação. Os resultados sinalizaram para impactos emocionais nos pais ante situações de exclusão social, afetando sobremaneira a interação destes com o meio social.
