ENEM: a demonstration of the socialeconomical changes in the participants' profile

Resumo: | This study presents some social-economics characteristics of the National Examination of Secondary Education - ENEM's participants, along the years of its edition some considerable increase in the number of participants took place. It compares the first edition of the examination in 1998, with the editions of 2001 and 2005 in order to verify some possible changes in the participants profile and which were them, using the information contained in the social-economic questionnaire answered by the evaluated group. It briefly describes the ENEM, its conception and development which, since its beginning ten years ago, suffered two great changes that increased significatively the number of applicants: in 2001 with the free registration fee to students from public schools, and in 2005 with the entailment of scholarship to students in Superior Private Institutions depending on the grades obtained in the examination. This study presents illustrative tables and graphics in order to make it better to visualize and analyze the changes mentioned. |

Compara la primera edicion del Examen, en 1998 con las ediciones de 2001 y 2005 para verificar posibles alteraciones en el perfil de sus participantes y cuales fueran esas modificaciones, utilizando las informaciónes contenidas en los cuestionarios socioeconomicos respondidos por los evaluados. Describe sucintamente el ENEM, su concepcion y desenvolvimiento que, durante los diez años de existencia sufrio dos grandes mudanzas que aumentaran de forma extremamente significativa el número de inscritos: en 2001 con la gratuidad de la tasa de inscripcion para los alumnos de la Red Pública y en 2005 con la vinculacion de becas de Instituciones Superiores de Enseñanza Privadas a los resultados obtenidos en el Examen.
