Municipal Public Policies of whole education in fulltime school day: when the school makes a difference

Resumo: This article comprehends studies developed in research funded by Observatorio da Educação (an agreement CAPES/INEP), that probed the issues whole education and fulltime school day in Middle school. Considering the design these approaches aggregate to Brazilian education, the text reports two experiences that present one of these designs – one of them identifies the whole formation of human being as a component part of the functions of the school, ratifying its centrality in this process. The last section of the article is an essay which discusses similarities and differences between the two schemes of fulltime school day with whole education, and suggests considerations about controversial points that edge this enlarging journey along with whole education, such as discussions associated with space, and organizing time and individuals who operate on it.

En el mismo se profundiza sobre las tematicas de la educacion integral y de la jornada escolar extendida en la escuela primaria. Teniendo en cuenta la delineacion que estas tematicas le han otorgado a la educacion brasileña contemporanea, el texto relata dos experiencias – sudeste y sur de Brasil - que presentan una de estas orientaciones - la que identifica la formacion integral del ser humano como parte integrante de las funciones de la escuela, confirmando su centralidad en este proceso. La última seccion del artículo se constituye como un ensayo que discute similitudes y diferencias que existen entre las dos propuestas de ampliacion de la jornada escolar, proponiendo reflexiones acerca de los puntos polemicos que involucran tal ampliacion de jornada con educacion integral, como los que se refieren a los espacios, a la organizacion del tiempo y a los sujetos que actúan en ella.Este artigo compreende estudos desenvolvidos em pesquisa financiada pelo Observatorio da Educação (convenio CAPES/INEP), que aprofundou as tematicas da educação integral e da jornada escolar ampliada no Ensino Fundamental. Levando em consideração os desenhos que vem incorporando essas tematicas na educação brasileira contemporânea, o texto relata duas experiencias ocorridas, respectivamente, nas regioes sudeste e sul do pais, que apresentam um desses desenhos – aquele que identifica a formação completa do ser humano como parte integrante das funcoes da escola, ratificando sua centralidade nesse processo.
