Resumo: Introduction: Higher education shows that the diversity of students enroll in higher education, with Brazilian regional diversity and the various institutional profiles that evaluate certain segments of schools, allowing a quality of life during the graduation by student assistance. Objective: To verify the Profile of new course of Physical Education of the University Center of Brasilia. Material and Methods: The study presents a descriptive and exploratory stage, complemented by other reflective in the period (effective 2016). The sample consisted of 25 students of the 1st semester of the Physical Education in the Health Faculty of the University Center of Brasilia - UniCEUB. The treatment of data was the content analysis in the open question, we used a phenomenological orientation, drawing responses significant units for the purpose of identifying the reasons for choosing the course. Results: There was obtained a sample of 25 participants of the 1st half of the main motivating the choice of the course of Physical Education, pointed to the fact that they have always liked sports and physical activities. Discussion: The main categories displayed in the speeches of entering the Physical Education course , it was observed that the total number of students who participated in the study, most chose the course for a good quality of life, the practice of sport , pleasure and especially for being dynamic and variety and possibility in the labor market. Conclusions: Knowing the profile of freshmen enables universities to plan student assistance actions that address the needs of students and to promote prevention and health promotion.

Objetivo: Verificar o perfil do ingressante do curso de Educação Física do Centro Universitário de Brasília. Material e Métodos: O estudo apresenta uma etapa exploratória e descritiva, complementada por outra reflexiva no período de 1º semestre de 2016. A amostra foi composta por 25 alunos do 1º semestre do curso de Educação Física na Faculdade de Saúde do Centro Universitário de Brasília – UniCEUB. O tratamento dos dados se deu pela análise de conteúdos na questão aberta, utilizou-se uma orientação fenomenológica, extraindo das respostas as unidades significativas referentes ao objetivo de identificar as razões da escolha do curso. Resultados: Obteve-se uma amostra de 25 participantes do 1º semestre sobre o principal motivador da escolha do curso de Educação Física, apontaram o fato de sempre terem gostado de esporte e das atividades físicas. Discussão: As principais categorias visualizadas nas falas dos ingressantes do curso de Educação Física, foi possível observar que do total de alunos que participaram do estudo, a maioria escolheu o curso por uma boa qualidade de vida, da prática do esporte, o prazer e principalmente por ser dinâmico e pela variedade e possibilidade no mercado de trabalho.
