Resumo: The article deals with the organochlorine production factory Rhodia SA, located in Cubatão-SP, responsible for the contamination of soil, surface and groundwater in the region. Thus, using the deductive and systemic methods for detailing the facts and phenomena, after a history of that plant, discusses the concept of organochlorine analyzes to repair the damage caused by industrial waste, with the most important theories for the delimitation of the damage and the risk and finally present the possibilities under critical eye, remediation of the area and overcome the current model of industrial society of risk.
