Pesticides and its Impacts: Pathways Towards the Informative Empowerment of the Brazilian Consumer

Resumo: The article enlights a serious public health problem in Brazil, which is barely researched under the legal perspective: the excessive and indiscriminate use of pesticides in agriculture and its impacts. Through the hypothetical-deductive method a general panorama of the problem with supporting technical data is undertaken. The issue is also analysed by the point of view of the brazilian Constitution and the Consumer´s Defense Code. The Law of the European Union in this matter is overviewed. Finally measures aimed at the effectiveness of the Consumer´s Defense Code and the Federal Constitution are proposed.

Por meio do método hipotético-dedutivo faz-se um panorama desse problema com suporte em dados técnicos. Analisa-se a questão posta pelo viés da Constituição Federal de 1988 e do Código de Defesa do Consumidor brasileiros. Discorre-se, ainda, sobre o Direito da União Europeia nessa matéria.
