Resumo: The research has as object of study the pedagogical home care as a way to promote school education at home as a right of the sick child. The relationship gathered in the triad made up of teachers, parents and students is fundamental in the schooling process, especially when it comes to sick children. The guiding question of this work is: How do the mother and the teacher who take care of a sick child perceive their contributions to the well-being and development of this child in home pedagogical care? We hypothesize that the child's health conditions in this situation assume that the care and monitoring of care by the caregivers, must ensure their well-being.The present study is based on the qualitative approach of an ethnographic nature (LAPLATINE, 2007; GUBER, 2001), and is characterized as a case study (YIN, 2005). Participated in the investigation the mother of a child at the age of 7 years seriously ill as well as, the teacher who performs home pedagogical care. The locus of the field research phase, the child's home, is located in the city of Suzano-SP. The general objective is to investigate the issues surrounding home pedagogical care (APD) around the care that are essential for the child's well-being. The field trip made it possible to take the associations between monitoring, care and well-being as an axis of investigation, which required a theoretical deepening in the scope of ethnographic research (LAPLATINE, 2007; GUBER, 2001); knowing how to take care (BOFF, 1999) and relationships with a child who suffers from a chronic disease (CASTRO: PICCININI, 2002). The research adopted three methodological procedures for data collection: the episodic interview (FLICK, 2002) with the two participants; participant ethnographic observation (GUBER, 2001) and the researcher's field diary (WEBER, 2009). Thematic analysis (BRAUN; CLARK, 2006) was used to study the data, making the importance of life experience as a primary element of caring and educating notorious. Data analysis reveals that caring for a seriously ill child and educating them is a delicate matter, as good care practices have repercussions beyond the physical aspect, and also influence the child's psychological and emotional development and point to greater autonomy than it is important both for the construction of the child's / adolescent's identity and for the promotion of their well-being. It is also possible to deduce from the analyzes that the APD is driven by experiences and intertwining of the life stories of the people involved in such a process. We conclude that these aspects present in the DPA go in an inseparable way, allowing to contemplate in a democratic way the differences and, at the same time, the complex nature of the individual, especially when it comes to schooling to a sick child.

We conclude that these aspects present in the DPA go in an inseparable way, allowing to contemplate in a democratic way the differences and, at the same time, the complex nature of the individual, especially when it comes to schooling to a sick child.
