Perfil alimentar pré-treino de atletas amadores de esportes coletivos

Resumo: Profile of Pre-Workout Food Consumption Among Amateur Athletes of Collective Sports Adequate nutrition is essential for the health and performance of athletes, considering that due to the peculiarities of physical exercise, the energy and nutritional needs of athletes are increased. The objective of this study was to verify the profile of food intake before training in amateur athletes of team sports. 104 athletes, men (63) and women (41), aged 18 years old or older, from several sports disciplines participated in the study. Data collection was carried out using an online questionnaire, consisting of 16 questions. It was found that 44.2% of the participants have already performed some nutritional strategy, of these, 52% were not guided by a nutritionist. About the influence of food on performance in different moments before training, most athletes classified as very important 1 hour, 4 hours, and 24 hours before exercise. It was also possible to observe a higher prevalence in the consumption of meat and eggs in relation to carbohydrate source foods 4 hours before training. It was observed that 47.1% reported using some kind of supplement on pre-workout meal. In addition, 67.3% did not use any specific strategy on competition days. From the data of this study, it is possible to note some misconceptions on the part of the athletes regarding food and performance, demonstrating the importance of the monitoring of a professional nutritionist in these teams.

O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar o perfil do consumo alimentar antes do treino de atletas amadores de esportes coletivos. Participaram desta pesquisa 104 atletas, homens (63) e mulheres (41), com idade igual ou maior de 18 anos, de várias modalidades. A coleta de dados foi efetuada através de um questionário online, composto por 16 perguntas. Verificou-se que 44,2% dos participantes já realizaram alguma estratégia nutricional, destes, 52% não foram orientados por um nutricionista. Sobre a influência da alimentação no desempenho em diversos momentos antes do treino, boa parte dos atletas classificaram como muito importante 1 hora, 4 horas e 24 horas antes do exercício. Foi possível observar também, uma maior prevalência no consumo de carnes e ovos em relação a alimentos fontes de carboidratos 4 horas antes do treino. Observou-se que 47,1% relataram utilizar algum suplemento no pré-treino. Além disso, 67,3% não utilizam nenhuma estratégia específica em dias de competição.
