Educação de jovens e adultos na cidade de São Paulo: expectativas dos alunos

This purpose of this study was to verify the reason that students – young and adults –choose to follow in the Elementary School in the EJA at the evening period. In case, it´s a exploratory and descritive study used one quantitative approach consummated by means of a research bibliographic/ documentary, and a public research into EMEF (Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental), located in the east zone of the São Paulo city. The review concluded that : the Secretariat of Education from the São Paulo citty it offers four chances of education at the basic education about to young and adults; the search by the students for world informations to the work; the understanding about the dynamic from the real school and the adequacy from the relation age/set by teenagers, they are elements that proved the search by the basic education at the EJA at the evening period. Understanding that teaching category need the diferents curriculum and methodology than diligent today to form the students of other periods, for it can be considerable to the guys that are using. The results revealed many points that favor the evening education to young, adults and others that need to be implemented in the improvement of the teaching quality. Thus, the certainty that the evening teaching can bring great possibilities to those that suffered social exclusion as the first cause not to be inserted in the educational space.
