Studies on digital accessibility have been highlighted throughout the country, and a dialogue with different areas of knowledge, such as Information Science, Technology and Law are required so that accessibility can be effective in our society. In this context, this research aims to present the legal elements that support accessibility actions for the deaf in digital environments available on the internet. For this, we discuss accessibility, presenting its concept and including specific legislation. The study examines the contours of accessibility for deaf people in the field of Information Science, presenting research results in the field of study in Brazil. The adherence of the regulations on digital accessibility to reality is verified, as the approximation of the results produced by the application of the law to social aspirations is recognized. As a methodology, qualitative documentary research is adopted. As results, the legal support on digital accessibility for the deaf is analyzed in the context of occurrences related to federal records, with data collected through the Legislative and Judiciary Information Network (LEXML). The investigation concluded that the regulations that deal with assistive technologies are essential for the implementation of accessibility to digital content available on the internet in order to expand the service to the Brazilian deaf community.
