Ethical and legal aspects of information literacy and the training of the librarian: a study with undergraduate students of Librarianship in the Southeast Region

Resumo: | This study aimed to verify the partial information literacy of librarianship undergraduates with regard to ethical and legal issues related to the use of information and compare with the standards of ACRL (2000). To this end, we applied an electronic questionnaire with 230 students from fifteen schools of Library science in southeastern Brazil. From the results it was realized that the standardization of reference, participants showed a performance below expectations, possibly compromising the recovery of a document by others. In the other questions that addressed issues regarding copyright and intellectual property, the majority of participants have shown that knowledge, behaviors and attitudes appropriate in relation to this aspect. |

Para ello, se aplicó un cuestionario electrónico a 230 estudiantes de bibliotecología de quince escuelas ubicadas en la región sureste del país. A partir de los resultados, se percibió que, en cuanto a la normalización de las referencias, los participantes presentaron un desempeño por debajo de lo esperado, lo que compromete la recuperación de un documento por otras personas. En las demás preguntas que abordaron temas relacionados con los derechos de autor, la propiedad intelectual y los derechos de autor, la mayoría de los participantes demostraron tener conocimientos, conductas y actitudes adecuadas respecto a este aspecto.O presente estudo teve como objetivos parciais verificar a competência informacional de graduandos de biblioteconomia no que se refere aos aspectos éticos e legais relacionados ao uso da informação, bem como comparar com os padrões da ACRL (2000). Para tanto, aplicou-se um questionário eletrônico com 230 estudantes de biblioteconomia de quinze escolas situadas na região sudeste do país. A partir dos resultados, percebeu-se que, quanto à normalização de referências, os participantes apresentaram um desempenho abaixo do esperado, o que comprometer a recuperação de um documento por outras pessoas.
