Critical Pedagogy Practices in Higher Education: Emancipatory Education in an Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences

Resumo: This article results from a literature review and a systematic reflection about a teaching practice in Higher Education that presents emancipatory education to future graduates in Accounting Sciences who may be teachers. It aims to collect conceptual comprehensions on emancipatory education and to identify understandings of the importance and possible effects of emancipatory education in the pre-service education for bachelors-teachers. This article is exploratory and based on the qualitative methodological approach and the interactionist paradigm. Procedurally, besides the conceptual data analysis resulting from the literature review, it presents reports produced by the students and posted on a virtual bulletin board and comprehended by means of an analysis of content with two pre-established categories. It was concluded that, although it has been elementary, the practice allowed for imbalance, cognitive challenges, and critical reflections arousing emancipatory education potentialities in a bachelor’s degree program. Higher education.Este artigo resulta de pesquisa bibliográfica e reflexão sistemática sobre uma prática pedagógica no Ensino Superior de apresentação da Educação Emancipadora a futuros bacharéis de Ciências Contábeis que atuarão como professores. Teve como objetivos: levantar compreensões conceituais sobre a Educação Emancipadora; e identificar entendimentos da importância e possíveis efeitos da Educação Emancipadora na formação docente inicial de prováveis bacharéis-professores. Com cunho exploratório, pautou-se na abordagem metodológica qualitativa, pelo paradigma interacionista. Procedimentalmente, além da análise sobre dados conceituais provindos da pesquisa bibliográfica, apresenta relatos produzidos pelos estudantes em mural digital e compreendidos pela análise de conteúdo com duas categorias a priori.
