Resumo: Apples with decay symptons were collected from packing house in the Experimental Station of São Joaquim. It was observed that all fruits which had a channel of communication between the calyx and the carpels presented rot carpels. The channel diameter varied from 1.2 mm to 2.0 mm. The cultivars with greater incidence were: 'Starkrimson', 'Royal Red Delicious' and 'Gala', while those with minor incidence were: 'Mutsu' and 'Golden Delicious’. The following fungus from the apple seeds (M domestica Bork) taken from carpels were isolated and identified: Fusarium roseum and Alternaria sp.. Fusarium roseum occurred in 100% of the seeds with husk and 13% of them without husk. Alternaria sp. was found in 90% of the seeds with husk. Both fungus caused apple rot when inoculated by injuries.

Pesquisa Agropecuaria BrasileiraPesquisa Agropecuária BrasileiraBleicher, Jorge2014-04-15info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/16533Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira; v.15, n.2, fev. 1980; 245-248Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira; v.15, n.2, fev. 1980; 245-2481678-39210100-104xreponame:Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online)instname:Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)instacron:EMBRAPAporhttps://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pab/article/view/16533/10810info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2014-04-15T19:32:17Zoai:ojs.seer.sct.embrapa.br:article/16533Revistahttp://seer.sct.embrapa.br/index.php/pabPRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phppab@sct.embrapa.br || sct.pab@embrapa.br1678-39210100-204Xopendoar:2014-04-15T19:32:17Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira (Online) - Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)false
