Effects of maize row spacing on the associated cropping with beans

Resumo: Seven experiments were carried out in five municipalities of Minas Gerais in order to determine whether, by maintaining the maize population at 30.000 plants per hectare, the increase in maize row spacing from 1 to 2 m would benefit the associated cropping with beans. In two experiments, the bean crop received different levels of fertilization and, in five experiments, three bean cvs. were used. It was concluded that the increase in maize row spacing was not advantageous because it can decrease the maize and beans yields.

Em dois experimentos, a cultura do feijão recebeu diferentes níveis de adubação e, em cinco, empregaram-se três variedades de feijão.
