Resumo: It is very difficult to produce and to get common vetch and wild radish seeds, so it is necessary tooptimize the use of these seeds. The sowing at adequate depth is an important cultural practice to these cover crops.The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of five sowing depth on the germination and on the emergency andgrowth rate of common vetch and wild radish seedlings. An experiment was carried out in a green house at Epagri/ Experiment Station of Canoinhas, SC, Brazil. Sowing depths between 2 and 6cm are adequate for germination of seeds, emergency and early growth rate in seedlings of common vetch and wild radish.

Diante da dificuldade de produção e aquisição de sementes de ervilhaca e de nabo forrageiro, é necessário otimizar a utilização desse insumo. A semeadura na profundidade adequada constitui-se em importante práticacultural para implantação correta dessas culturas de cobertura do solo. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de cinco profundidades de semeadura sobre a germinação e a velocidade de emergência e de crescimento de plântulasde ervilhaca comum e nabo forrageiro. Para tanto, foi conduzido um experimento sob condições de abrigo na Epagri/Estação Experimental de Canoinhas, SC.
