Changes caused by COVID-19 in the routine of nursing residentes in an inpatient unit

Resumo: | Introduction: COVID-19 is a viral infection that can generate from flu-like syndromes to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, requiring hospitalization of patients with this condition. During hospitalization, nursing residents are some of the professionals who interact the most with these patients. Objective: to describe the routine of nursing residents during their work in an inpatient unit in Distrito Federal for patients with COVID-19, as well as to discuss the main changes that ocurred in the sector specifically in this context of a pandemic. Method: descriptive and qualitative study, an experience report based on the experiences of three nursing residents. Results and Discussion: considering the necessary adaptations, the main managerial and assistential activities carried at the sector were described. Conclusion: it is hoped that this study can provide guidance for the nursing performance during the pandemic. It is relevant that similar studies are carried out addressing the experience of other professionals in the multiprofessional team. |

Durante a internação, os residentes de enfermagem são alguns dos profissionais que mais interagem com esses pacientes. Objetivo: Descrever a rotina de residentes de enfermagem durante sua atuação em uma unidade de internação do Distrito Federal para pacientes com COVID-19, bem como discutir sobre as principais mudanças ocorridas no setor especificamente neste contexto de pandemia. Método: Estudo descritivo e qualitativo, do tipo relato de experiência a partir das vivências de três residentes de enfermagem. Resultados e Discussão: Considerando as adaptações necessárias, foram descritas as principais atividades gerenciais e assistenciais desenvolvidas nos setores. Conclusão: Espera-se que este estudo possa oferecer um direcionamento para a atuação da enfermagem durante a pandemia.
