Nursing care in breastfeeding and maternal awareness

Resumo: Breastfeeding is essential for the baby's development and needs to be encouraged by the nursing teams towards child development and also for the prevention of diseases in breastfeeding women, as the female body needs to exercise breastfeeding to promote the health of both. The nurse works in this scenario as a professional who provides assistance and awareness to the breastfeeding woman, pregnant woman and the baby, as knowledge about breastfeeding is essential. Discuss about breastfeeding and the different forms of intervention by nurses for maternal awareness. Integrative literature review with analysis of 8 articles found on SciELO, Birene, Lilacs and Academic Google platforms, the analyzed articles were published between the years 2016 to 2021. They were selected after applying the inclusion criteria and excluding 8 articles to be analyzed in this review article. Both demonstrate the issue of assistance and removal of doubts through the nurse, who should promote the knowledge of pregnant and lactating women about the care of the baby and breastfeeding, it was also demonstrated that family and cultural issues influence this issue. It was concluded that, through the most varied forms of intervention, nurses can reach pregnant and lactating women and promote awareness of the importance of breastfeeding.

O enfermeiro atua nesse cenário como um profissional que presta assistência e conscientização à lactante, gestante e ao bebê, pois, o conhecimento sobre a amamentação é fundamental. O objetivo é discutir sobre o aleitamento materno e as diversas formas de intervenção do enfermeiro para conscientização materna. Revisão integrativa da literatura com análise de 8 artigos encontrados nas plataformas SciELO, Birene, Lilacs e Google Acadêmico, os artigos analisados foram publicados entre os anos de 2016 a 2021. Foram selecionados após aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão 8 artigos para serem analisados no presente artigo de revisão. Ambos demostram a questão da assistência e retirada de dúvidas através do enfermeiro que deve promover o conhecimento da gestante e lactante sobre os cuidados com o bebê o aleitamento materno, demonstrou-se também que as questões familiares e culturais influem nesse quesito. Concluiu-se que o enfermeiro consegue através das mais variadas formas de intervenção alcançar as gestantes e lactantes e promover a conscientização sobre a importância do aleitamento materno.
