Resumo: There are several existing preventive methods for dental caries, but it still is a public health problem and the demand for endodontics treatments is increasing, as the population and professionals are more aware about the importance of endodontic treatment in deciduous teeth in order to avoid their early loss and its consequences. The objective of this paper, through the literature review, is to make an analysis of the materials used for endodontic in teeth of materials, whether based on iodoform, calcium hydroxide or zinc oxide, and present their main characteristics, benefits and desadvantages materials to help the professionals to decide about which material can be useful- decision for each case. For this, 29 articles in English or Portuguese were selected from databases such as Scielo, Pubmed and Google Scholar. It was found that there is no consensus in the literature on the most suitable material and in spite of the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry recommend pasta with iodoform, professionals tend to choose pasta based on calcium hydroxide.

It was found that there is no consensus in the literature on the most suitable material and in spite of the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry recommend pasta with iodoform, professionals tend to choose pasta based on calcium hydroxide. Sustenere Publishing2023-01-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/774610.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.004.0024Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 4 (2022): Scire Salutis - Ago, Set, Out 2022; 238-248Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 4 (2022): Scire Salutis - Ago, Set, Out 2022; 238-248Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 4 (2022): Scire Salutis - Ago, Set, Out 2022; 238-2482236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/7746/4351https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/7746/4350Copyright (c) 2023 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVapor, Ana Carolina Soares Zachi, Dayse Tatyele Ramalho Silva Gama, Amanda Carvalho Cangussu 2023-08-06T23:44:25Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7746Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-08-06T23:44:25Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
