Resumo: PIMs are non-prescription drugs and are essential for the treatment of mild diseases, being available in over-the-counter pharmacy, which enables self-medication. Professionals and enable aspects of management, use and economy of medicines. The pharmaceutical prescription, in these cases, appears as a technical guidance on the medication and the mild disease presented by the user. To understand the impact of pharmaceutical performance on community health services through over-the-counter pharmacy in the use of MIPs (Over-the-counter Medicines) and the harmfulness of self-medication. The search for studies was carried out in the NCBI/PubMed (National Center for BiotechnologyInformation), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Lirary Online), Academic Google and Lilacs - Bireme (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Sciences) databases. Health). To delimit the contents, inclusion criteria were used: articles available in full, in Portuguese and English, from 2014 to 2021 with free access and that were relevant to the theme. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 15 articles were selected to be analyzed in this review article. In these studies, it was possible to see that self-medication is an element present in scientific articles and that users are based on cultural experiences and information from third parties, thus leaving the pharmacist aside, and not using their pharmacological knowledge, it is highlighted that for a Appropriate pharmaceutical prescription, the user must explain the drugs already used and the symptoms felt, in this sense, as a result of not having pharmacological knowledge, they tend to make simultaneous use of medications that can interact with each other, putting their lives at risk. The pharmaceutical prescription through the MIPs is important to preserve the health of the user, and it avoids the problems caused by the inappropriate use of medications, because, if used in an inadequate dose or if they were consumed while another drug is in the body, it may have the drug interaction risk.

The pharmaceutical prescription through the MIPs is important to preserve the health of the user, and it avoids the problems caused by the inappropriate use of medications, because, if used in an inadequate dose or if they were consumed while another drug is in the body, it may have the drug interaction risk. Sustenere Publishing2021-09-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/624710.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.001.0003Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 1 (2022): Scire Salutis - Out, Nov, Dez 2021, Jan 2022; 17-24Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 1 (2022): Scire Salutis - Out, Nov, Dez 2021, Jan 2022; 17-24Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 1 (2022): Scire Salutis - Out, Nov, Dez 2021, Jan 2022; 17-242236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6247/3443https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6247/3469Copyright (c) 2022 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFernandes, Everton WanderleySilva, Gabriel Coelho daMarquez, Carolinne de Oliveira2023-01-04T20:16:22Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/6247Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-01-04T20:16:22Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
